What is SEQTA’s Birthday Alert?

SEQTA’s Birthday Alert notifies school staff about upcoming and same day birthdays for their students, helping educators create positive interactions that can leave a lasting impression. Integrated seamlessly into the SEQTA system, the Birthday Alert appears alongside other Student Alerts in commonly used sections like the Student Information Panel (SIP), Marksbook and Seating Plan. With this subtle reminder, educators can effortlessly acknowledge student birthdays and create meaningful moments of connection without disrupting their regular workflow

The Birthday Alert uses two icons to distinguish between upcoming and same-day birthdays:

• Upcoming Birthdays: A grey cake slice icon appears next to a student’s name if their birthday is within the next five days. Hovering over this icon displays a tooltip indicating how many days away the birthday is, allowing educators to anticipate these moments and prepare a small acknowledgment
• Today’s Birthdays: A pink cake slice icon signals a student’s birthday is happening that day. This alert appears wherever Student Alerts are displayed, making it easy for educators to notice and connect with the student

Once a birthday has passed, the alert disappears automatically, keeping the information timely and relevant. This user friendly feature is designed to make the process as seamless as possible for teachers, allowing them to maintain their usual routines while adding a personal touch to their interactions with students.
